App Terms & Conditions
Phonics Sprint · Version 1.0 · 23 June 2026
Please read carefully before allowing your child to use the App. These Terms & Conditions are addressed to you as the parent or legal guardian. By ticking the “I agree” box in the App, you confirm you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and your child.
1. About Phonics Sprint
Phonics Sprint is a children’s phonics game for children aged 4 and above (“App”). It is published by Aydnari Kids Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13892861) (“Aydnari”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
The App helps children learn phonics sounds through timed, interactive matching and spelling exercises covering phonics stages from single sounds and digraphs through to trigraphs, split digraphs and alternative spellings (including Phase 5 patterns).
The App is intended to be made available on Apple iOS devices through the Apple App Store and on Android devices through the Google Play Store.
2. Parental consent and the parental gate
Phonics Sprint is designed for young children. We therefore require a parent or legal guardian to set up the App and give consent before a child can use it. We will do this through a consent screen and a simple parental gate that young children are unlikely to complete.
By completing the parental gate and ticking the consent boxes in the App, you:
- confirm you are the parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the App;
- give your consent to your child using Phonics Sprint under these Terms;
- confirm you have read and understood our Privacy Notice; and
- authorise us to process the limited personal data described in our Privacy Notice.
You can withdraw your consent and cancel your subscription at any time through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
3. Subscriptions and payment
How the subscription works
Phonics Sprint is intended to offer a free introductory tier and a paid subscription that unlocks the full phonics content. Subscription details — including the price, billing period and what is included — will be shown in the App and in the relevant App Store listing before you subscribe.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions will be managed via Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). When you subscribe:
- payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase;
- the subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled;
- we do not have access to your card or payment details — these are held and processed by Apple or Google under their own terms and privacy policies.
Cancellation deadlines and renewal timing are governed by Apple’s or Google’s platform policies, as applicable to your device.
Free trials
If we offer a free trial, it will be described in the App Store listing. Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial period.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the platform you used to subscribe:
- Apple (iOS): Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Phonics Sprint → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Google Play Store → tap your profile icon (top right) → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Phonics Sprint → Cancel subscription
Please note that deleting the App from your device does not cancel your subscription — you must cancel through the App Store or Google Play as described above.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for remaining days of a paid period except as required by law or Apple’s / Google’s own refund policies.
Cancellation timing, notice requirements and any applicable refund entitlements are subject to Apple’s or Google’s platform terms, as applicable to your device. We encourage you to review the relevant platform terms before cancelling.
Price changes
We may change the subscription price from time to time. The current price is always shown in the App Store or Google Play listing. If you do not accept any new price, you should cancel your subscription before renewal.
Refunds
All refund requests must be made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store in accordance with their refund policies. We have no ability to process refunds directly.
4. Acceptable use
You may use Phonics Sprint for your child’s personal use only. You must not:
- copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App;
- use the App for any commercial purpose or on behalf of any third party;
- circumvent or tamper with the parental gate or subscription system;
- use the App in any way that breaches any applicable law or these Terms.
5. Content and intellectual property
All content in Phonics Sprint — including the phonics content, game mechanics, graphics, audio and design — is owned by or licensed to Aydnari Kids Limited and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Emoji graphics are from Twemoji, © 2020 Twitter, Inc and other contributors, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Your subscription will give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App for your child’s personal use during your subscription period. You do not own any content in the App.
6. App updates and changes to these Terms
We aim to keep Phonics Sprint available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify or withdraw features of the App at any time. The App is designed to work offline, though some features (such as subscription verification) may require an internet connection.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. Where we make a material change — whether to the App or to these Terms — we will display a notice within the App and update the version date on this page. The latest version of these Terms is always available at phonics-sprint.co.uk/legal.html. Continued use of the App following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept the updated Terms, you should stop using the App and cancel your subscription.
7. Our liability to you
Aydnari Kids Limited and its directors, officers, employees, agents, suppliers and licensors will not be liable to you for any loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.
Where we are found to be liable to you for direct loss, our total liability will not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid to Apple or Google in the 12 months before the event giving rise to your claim.
The App is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from loss, corruption or security breach.
The above limitations do not apply to: liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Disclaimer
The App is a phonics game. We do not guarantee any particular learning outcomes. Any benefit to a child’s phonics knowledge will depend on many factors including the child’s age, engagement and prior experience.
9. Children’s safety
Phonics Sprint is designed to be safe for young children. The App:
- does not contain advertising;
- is designed not to use third-party analytics or tracking technology beyond what is necessary for the App to function;
- uses avatars rather than personal profiles — children choose a character rather than entering their name or personal details;
- requires a parental gate to be completed before a child can use the App;
- does not include chat or messaging features;
- stores gameplay and progress data on the device itself.
As a parent or guardian, you are responsible for supervising your child’s use of the App and ensuring the device is used appropriately.
10. Data protection and privacy
Full details of what personal data we collect, why we process it, how long we retain it and your rights as a data subject are set out in our Privacy Notice, which will also be accessible within the App once it is available.
11. Ending these Terms
You may stop using Phonics Sprint at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the App from your device.
We may suspend or end your access to the App if you breach these Terms in a material way, including but not limited to attempting to circumvent the subscription or parental gate, reverse-engineering the App, or using it for any commercial purpose. Where we do so, we will take reasonable steps to inform you as soon as practicable. Any unused subscription period will be refunded in accordance with Apple’s or Google’s applicable refund policies.
12. Events outside our control
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations that is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to failure of third-party platforms (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play), internet outages, acts of God, or actions of governmental authorities.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remaining Terms, which shall continue in full force and effect.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in the country where you live.
If you have a complaint, please contact us at hello@phonics-sprint.co.uk. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer your dispute to the courts of England and Wales or to an alternative dispute resolution provider.

Privacy Notice
Privacy Notice
Phonics Sprint · Version 1.0 · 23 June 2026
This Privacy Notice is addressed to parents and legal guardians. It explains how Aydnari Kids Limited processes personal data in connection with Phonics Sprint, and sets out your rights under UK data protection law.
1. Who we are
Aydnari Kids Limited is the data controller for Phonics Sprint. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 13892861).
We take privacy seriously. This Privacy Notice explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and your rights under applicable data protection law. Aydnari Kids Limited is a UK-registered company and this Privacy Notice is written primarily with reference to UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). If you are located outside the United Kingdom, additional or different data protection laws may apply to you. We encourage you to read this notice carefully.
2. Our approach to privacy
Phonics Sprint has been designed with data minimisation in mind. A child can create a local player profile on the device by choosing an avatar — they do not provide a name or email address to us, and no account is created with Aydnari. We do not include advertising in the App. Subscription payments will be managed via Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android) — we will not receive or process your card or payment details directly.
As Phonics Sprint is designed for children aged 4 and above, we require a parent or legal guardian to provide consent before a child uses the App. This is how we satisfy the requirement under Article 8 UK GDPR for processing the personal data of children under the age of 13.
3. Personal data we process
The table below sets out the categories of personal data we process, our purpose for doing so, and the lawful basis we rely on under UK GDPR.

| Subscription data |
To verify subscription status and provide access to paid content. Received from Apple (via Apple In-App Purchase) or Google (via Google Play Billing) — we do not receive your payment card details |
Performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Customer correspondence |
To respond to queries, support requests or complaints sent to us by email |

Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Apple and Google act as independent data controllers for subscription and payment processing. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details of how they handle your data.
4. How long we keep your data
We retain personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, taking into account the following criteria:
- for as long as is needed to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected;
- for as long as the App is installed on your device or as necessary for our legitimate interests;
- for as long as is necessary to comply with our legal obligations;
- for as long as is necessary to enforce our agreements or resolve disputes;
- as permitted or required by applicable law.
In all cases we apply data minimisation principles and will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise personal data securely when it is no longer needed.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share personal data with third parties where necessary to deliver our services, operate our business, or comply with our legal obligations. Where we share data with third parties, we take appropriate steps to ensure they protect it in accordance with applicable data protection law, including by entering into data processing agreements where required.
Third parties with whom we may share personal data include platform and technology providers who help us deliver and operate our services. Subscription and payment processing is handled by Apple (via Apple In-App Purchase) and Google (via Google Play Billing), each of whom acts as an independent data controller. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies for details of how they handle your personal data. We also work with third parties who assist with the technical development, maintenance and hosting of the App and our website.
6. Other lawful grounds for processing
In addition to the lawful bases set out in the table in section 3, there are circumstances where we may need to process personal data under other lawful grounds permitted by UK GDPR. These include:
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): where we are required to process or disclose personal data to comply with a legal obligation, including a court order, regulatory requirement or statutory duty;
- Vital interests (Art. 6(1)(d)): where processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of a person;
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, to enforce our agreements, or to resolve disputes;
- Public task: where required by a public authority acting in the exercise of official authority.
We will only rely on these grounds where they genuinely apply and where our use of your data is proportionate and does not override your rights and interests.
7. International transfers of personal data
Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we will ensure that such transfers are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection law. This may include relying on an adequacy decision made by the UK Government, the use of Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (UK IDTA), or another appropriate safeguard recognised under UK GDPR. We will not transfer personal data to a third country or international organisation unless an appropriate safeguard is in place.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you:
| Right | What it means |
| Access | Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. |
| Rectification | Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data. |
| Erasure | Ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances (e.g. if you withdraw consent or the data is no longer needed). |
| Restriction | Ask us to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances. |
| Portability | Receive a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format where technically feasible. |
| Object | Object to processing based on our legitimate interests. |
| Withdraw consent | Withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. |
| Automated decision-making |
You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not carry out automated decision-making of this nature in connection with the App. |
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@phonics-sprint.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge for exercising your rights.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, in accordance with Article 32 UK GDPR. These measures are designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access.
10. Children’s privacy
Our website and App are designed with children’s privacy in mind. We follow the principles in the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) Age Appropriate Design Code to help ensure that children’s personal information is handled safely and fairly.
Phonics Sprint is designed to be safe for young children. The App:
- does not contain advertising;
- is designed not to use third-party analytics or tracking technology beyond what is necessary for the App to function;
- uses avatars rather than personal profiles — children choose a character rather than entering their name or personal details;
- requires a parental gate to be completed before a child can use the App;
- does not include chat or messaging features;
- stores gameplay and progress data on the device itself.
11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies where necessary for the secure operation and functionality of the website. Our hosting provider also maintains standard server logs to help ensure the security, performance and reliability of the website.
Learning progress and user preferences within the App are stored locally on the device being used. This includes any progress through phonics stages, scores, and avatar preferences saved during use of the App. This information is not automatically transferred to or synchronised with other devices. If the App is deleted or the device is replaced, locally stored progress may be lost.
If we introduce additional cookies or similar technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Notice and, where required by law, obtain your consent.
12. Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The latest version is always available at phonics-sprint.co.uk/privacy-notice. The version number and date at the top of this notice tell you when it was last updated. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
13. Contact and complaints
If you have any questions about this Privacy Notice or how we handle your personal data, or if you wish to make a complaint, please contact us at hello@phonics-sprint.co.uk. We will do our best to resolve any concerns promptly.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or your relevant supervisory authority. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to resolve any issue in the first instance before you contact the ICO.
